For a long time, I wanted to build a birdhouse. I even bought plans for one, but never got around to starting the project. Later, I came across a wooden ammunition crate from a 155 mm artillery shell. During wartime, finding items like this is unfortunately not unusual. Looking at the box, I had a different idea: instead of letting it remain a reminder of war, I could turn it into a home for birds. So I rebuilt it into a birdhouse and installed it where birds could safely nest and raise their chicks. It is only a small wooden box, but I like the symbolism behind it. Something that was originally made for war now has a new purpose. Not war. New life.
