The grass around one part of the lake had grown quite tall. Fishing had become less comfortable, there were patches of nettles, and the mosquitoes seemed to enjoy the overgrown area even more than the fishermen did. I decided to mow the grass so the shoreline would be easier to use—not only for me, but for everyone who comes here to fish or simply spend time by the water. The idea wasn't mine. One of my neighbors regularly mows the grass at the other end of the lake, and thanks to his effort that area has become a wonderful place to relax. Seeing the difference he made inspired me.
